Term 2 Week 4 PhotoWalk: PhotoClub Goes to Watsons Bay Sunrise w/Snacks & Drinks

We’re excited to have our morning refreshing outing in the week 4! Come with us on a little retreat away from all your troubles and out on a little journey to Watson Bay.   

  

After a quick bus ride from Town Hall, we’ll make our first stop at The Gap to catch the amazing sunrise. After that, we will walk along the stunning coastal line and head toward the iconic Hornby lighthouse. Watson Bay is famous for beaches and shoreline, which makes for amazing coastal photos.   

 

This event is FREE but due to limited space, we will require you to sign up to secure your spot and let us know of your availability as a part of our COVID-19 infection control measures.

We will meet at 5:45am Outside of Woolworths Town Hall to catch the 6:02am bus. Please arrive on-time or early! Alternatively, you can meet us at Watsons Bay at 6:35am. 

 

Snacks and drinks will be provided upon arrival at the Gap, let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

  • Camera -DSLR, MILC, Compact, Film, Mobile, as long as it takes pictures

Term 2 Week 4 Outing: PhotoClub x AstroSoc Mount Kuring-Gai – Astrophotography Night

Date: 24/06/22  

Time: 16:00 – 22:30  

Meeting Location: Central Station Grand Concourse (Intercity and Regional Services platforms)

 

Description:

Meeting time and place is 16:00 at Central Grand Concourse to catch the 16:13 train. Alternatively, you can meet us at Hornsby Platform 2 at 17:05 if you wish to join us on the train (please let us know in advance) or drive to Mount Kuring-Gai Oval to meet us at 17:30. Please arrive on-time or early! Train does not wait for you, or you will be left behind!!! 

PhotoClub & Space and Astronomy Society are collaborating for Astrophotography Night! We will be going to Mount Kuring-Gai Oval to take photos of stars and night. There will be cameras available for you to explore the night sky if you don’t have one. 

Please have your dinner before the start of the trip because there are no shops at Mount Kuring-Gai and we will be back late. Bring some snacks if you want to. 

We will be leaving Mount Kuring-Gai Oval at around 9pm to head back to the city for dismissal.  

Items to bring: 

  • Camera – DSLR, MILC, Compact, Film, Mobile, as long as it takes pictures! (DSLR & MILC are preferred) 
  • Comfortable pair of walking shoes 
  • Tripod 
  • Remote shutter release (if you have one) 
  • Water and snacks 
  • MASKS!!!! Mandatory on public transport and during the events 
  • Opal Card with enough money (no top-up available) 
  • Torch – not mobile phone torch (Strongly recommended)
