Week 3 Tutorial: Street Photography

Ever wanted to learn how to take good candid pictures? Ever wanted to make your mundane lives seem more interesting in an image? Ever seen an interesting character on the street and wanted to take their picture but didn’t know how to approach them? Want to improve your photographic technique and skill?
Come along to our Street Photography Tutorial this Friday to find out more about the most interesting genre of photography that exists (biased, but true). We will be sharing tips and tricks on how to capture interesting and unique street photos which will also help with your photography skills in other genres as well.
Come for the tutorial- and stay for the free pizza and drinks afterwards!!

We’re having a pizza night this week again! It’s free pizza and drinks for all PhotoClub members. Grab a slice and use this time to have a chat with everyone!

Week 3 Weekend: PhotoDash

The inter-uni PhotoDash is getting very close and we feel the competition growing! On that note, the deadline for sign-ups will be this Tuesday August 7 @ 23:59 OR when positions are full.

PhotoBook
As previously announced the Annual PhotoBook is underway! We have an addition to announce. Those photos which are submitted before 23:59 on Sunday the 12th of August will also have the chance to be featured in an Arts Week exhibition on campus with Arc! They will have the same chance in the PhotoBook competition, featured at the exhibition or not – so we highly recommend submitting early for the extra opportunity!

Workshop A

A simple introduction on how a camera works. We will cover aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how to balance these basic components to take a good photograph.

Location: Main Library Room 402
Workshop B will give you a complete breakdown of how a camera focuses, its different focus modes and how to use them to your advantage. We will also be covering some other basics including depth of field, dynamic range and white balance.
