Week 1 Tutorial: Welcome & Product Photography & Meet N’ Greet!

Join us for the first event of the year @ Central Lecture Block 7, where we’ll show you what PhotoClub is all about! We’ll start with a small introduction, before holding a Product Photography tutorial. Bring your cameras if you want because there will be an opportunity to take pictures! But don’t worry if you don’t have one, a phone is fine or you can borrow our camera.
After we’ll have FREE BBQ AND DRINKS (both alcoholic and soft) where you can meet all the new (and old) PhotoClubbers! This is the perfect opportunity to find out about PhotoClub, while making new friends as well. Please let us know if you have any allergies.

Week 1 Outing: Watsons Bay Photowalk!

Watsons Bay is one of the best unknown locations in Sydney to explore. Boasting sweeping views, it’s perfect for any type of photography you like – landscape, nature and portrait are just a few! The walk will start at Watsons Bay Wharf and continue onto the Hornby Lighthouse.
Directions:
To get there, we recommend catching the train to Circular Quay Station or meeting us at Watsons Bay.
Please note that we will not be stopping for food, we recommend bringing a snack and drink to keep you fuelled for the walk and until later when we will be having a proper meal.
Please keep an eye on the Facebook event on Saturday in the case of wet weather (see below).

IMPORTANT: There will be TWO meeting points: one at Circular Quay Wharf 2 @ 2PM FOR A 2:17PM FERRY (please don’t be late, the ferry won’t wait) and the other at Watsons Bay Wharf @ 2:45PM ?.

Workshops
Our workshops are designed for beginners – to teach them all the basics about photography.
Next week, we will begin running Workshop A – Exposure. This workshop is a simple introduction on how a camera works. It familiarises you with the exposure triangle, which includes aperture, ISO and shutter speed, and how to use the camera to manipulate them.
In week 3, Workshop B – Focus, will begin running. It will give you a complete breakdown of how a camera focuses, its different focus modes and how to use them to your advantage. We will also be covering some other basics including depth of field, dynamic range and white balance.
