Portraiture is one of the most used styles of photography, mainly as it is diverse in artistic opportunities and uses.

Since portraiture is such a big topic to cover, the first tutorial will bring it into the studio, where you will learn the basic techniques and lighting conditions.

A live demonstration will be provided to show a sample of the workflow process. If you bring your camera you could get a small turn at shooting after the tutorial.

The studio outing is set on the same weekend, so it is a good opportunity to brush up over techniques and potential ideas that you haven’t thought of.

*This event is open to 2019 PhotoClub members only (please bring your membership cards).

After last year’s test Studio Shoot we’re planning to hold one each term in 2019!! The first is this Saturday!!

We’ve booked a studio, there will be the full setup including lights, models, backdrops etc. You will have the chance to take as many photos as possible in the studio environment and work with models, an experience that could otherwise costs lots!

We ask that afterwards you provide some of the photos as a thank you to the models! Don’t worry if you’re unsure, many are just starting out and there will be guidance from our execs.

This event requires you to sign-up to secure your FREE spot and inform us of your availability. Please do so here: https://goo.gl/forms/k1mIhwSFjJiIRt6H3

Workshops

Our workshops are designed for base skills – to teach all the basics about photography.

There will be two Workshop A events running in week 2.
A simple introduction on how a camera works. We will cover aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how to balance these basic components to take a good photograph.

26/02/2019 : 4:00pm – 5:00pm : Main Library 403
27/02/2019 : 11:00am – 12:00pm : Main Library 412

In week 3, Workshop B – Focus, will begin running. It will give you a complete breakdown of how a camera focuses, its different focus modes and how to use them to your advantage. We will also be covering some other basics including depth of field, dynamic range and white balance.

The workshop times will be posted in the UNSW PhotoClub 2019 Facebook group – join ithere if you haven’t already!
